Mo's

Of course, it was time for my 6 month checkup at Mo's. I'll swing by some time today to snap a picture of the place. Mo's is still without a doubt my favorite straight-up hamburger place in the world, as I've mentioned numerous times on this site.

alpine burger - sauteed mushrooms and gruyere - $7.95

The price seems to be fluctuating now by a quarter or so, but at least it's staying under the $8 dollar mark. Of course, the normal mushroom burger is under $7, and I think a regular burger is around $6, but I just have to like the alpine the best. One of the best things about this burger is that their sauteed mushroom concoction, simple as it may be, is the best burger topping I've ever had. That, coupled with the fact that they know what a medium rare burger is, means one delicious piece of meat. Honestly, I'd pay $10 for this. Probably $15 if I really had to.

I love Mo's! Their fries are excellent too. I always ask for them extra crispy.

Love this Boston food blog!

I have a food related story to relate: Went on this blind "date" - was supposed to meet for brunch ... i had picked out the place based on on-line reviews etc...got there half an hour early to check it out - to my dismay it was cafeteria style get-your-food-at-the-counter and pray for a table service...YUCK! I ran outside and up and down the block looking for a better place - wore myself out silly and it was such a hot and humid day - anyways - settled on a sub par place but had no wait - figured the conversation would be fun -WRONG - she was totally uninterested in anything I had to say - sheesh - what a freakin drag - i work like a dog the whole week and at the very least I would've liked to spend it with someone who was a little more interesting (or showed/pretended to be a lil more interested).

I was shocked to hear that she wanted to walk around a bit - she should've just told be to go f myself - it would've saved me the extra hour of being spontaneous and funny - not that it's work for me to do that but it was damn humid - sigh.

Oh, what does food have to do with this you ask? Cafeteria style eateries should make that point clear in their websites!! Running up and down a hot street is not a great way to show up for a date - especially if that makes you into a sweaty person :(

Amy - it seems that the fries are a love/hate thing. People have said they like Mo's burgers but their fries stink. I'm squarely on your side - I think their fries are awesome. And they'll give you some of their delicious mayo to dip it into too! :)

Bokenharted - thanks for visiting. I too am a strong proponent of restaurant websites. In this day and age, it's just so easy to set up a good (and more importantly, informative!) website that really helps potential customers.
