The place is actually quite good, but I think for some people it gets repetitive. I usually go at least once every time I'm in town. peking ducklobster with garlic sauce in clay potfried tofu with peapod stemsduck and taro with cream sauce in clay potPretty standard Vancouver Chinese food. The peking duck was pretty good - it was the meaty variety - but can't compare to Fortune Garden's, especially in the pancake department. The lobster was good, although it did require a lot of work sifting through shell. The tofu was great; crispy on the outside and smooth on the inside. The duck/taro wasn't quite hot enough, and didn't have enough sauce. Usually the taro is more tender than it was here. Still, Ming Yuen is generally better than most of the Chinese places we have around here, and it's just down the block from my cousin's house. CommentsPost a Comment |
